The Serie D No. 3 (Corona Gorda) was the first of the Limited Edition offerings of 2002, and is still available. It's deep, dark, rich and spicy (see our TASTING NOTES on this one.) One year later the Serie D No. 2 (LE 2003) was released, and is now difficult to find. Partagas then followed suit with the other big names in 2004 with the release of a 'straight Pyramid' of their own, the Serie D No. 1 (LE 2004), and more recently, the Serie P No. 2 (Piramide), not limited edition but highly accoladed.

*Romeo y Julieta*
Romeo y Julieta has recently released several new limited release cigars since 2003, namely the Hermosos No. 1 (LE 2003) and the Hermosos No. 2 (LE 2004), both with a hefty ring gauge of 48. Since then, the release of their two newest cigars has been much anticipated. The beautifully packaged Short Churchill (Tubo) is a delicious and powerful robusto, and the Petit Piramid (LE 2005), has been widely celebrated. Both are now widely available.

*San Cristobal de La Habana*
Not to be outdone, San Cristobal has released three new vitolas to add to their already uniquely-sized family. The Mercaderes is a Super Hermoso (6.5" x 48 ring), the Muralla (a giant of a cigar at 7 1/8" with a whopping 54 ring gauge, one of the largest cigars produced by any brand), and the Oficios, a "short Lonsdale" at 5 1/4" x 43 ring. All three are named after streets in Old Havana. They are medium-bodied, rich and well-balanced cigars, exhibiting creamy notes of coffee, nuts, cocoa and vanilla, with a subtle and warm spiciness.
